How long will EXO 8's battery last?

The battery pack can power EXO 8 for up to 100 days with one charge. Actual battery life will vary depending on device configurations, alert response, operating temperature, sensor types and pump usage.

Can EXO 8 be hung by its handle?

EXO 8 should not be hung by its handle alone. You can hang EXO by its handle using the EXO Hanging Mount Kit.

EXO’s mounting plate can be used to mount EXO to the EXO base, a surveyor’s tripod, or the EXO universal mount. When using the universal mount, a cable should be threaded through EXO’s handle and used to anchor the device as an added safety measure.

What gas cartridges can EXO 8 use?

EXO 8 can use Blackline Safety’s multi-gas cartridges. Single-gas and multi-gas pumped cartridges are not compatible with EXO 8.

When EXO 8 goes into alert, how do I determine the cause of the alert?

When a high urgency or low urgency notification is activated on EXO, the dashboard screen status and the banner at the top of the screen will provide information about the notification.

If the notification is gas related, the corresponding gas reading card on the live readings screen will change to yellow for a low urgency notification or red for a high urgency notification.

X-Zone® 5800

State-of-the-art area monitoring is what you will find with the Dräger X-zone® 5800. Working in combination with the Dräger X-am® 5000, 5100, and 5600 gas detectors, the X-Zone 5800 can be used for the measurement of up to six gases. The internal pump and continuous power supply in the explosive area of Zone 0 / C1D1 extend the range of applications in mobile gas detection technology.

Up to 25 Dräger X-zone 5800s can be automatically interconnected to form a wireless fenceline, allowing for the rapid establishment of safety networks for larger areas. When detecting a gas alarm, the X-Zone 5800 transmits the alarm signal to all interconnected units. A red flashing alarm in the unit detecting the gas contrasts with alternating red and green flashing alarms of the connected units. This provides a simple recognition of alarm status and the actual location of the hazard.

With the corresponding configuration, the maximum gas concentration in the monitored area is shown on the display. Combined with the display of the X-zone ID a clear containment of the hazard area is possible.

What type of gases does the G7 EXO detect?

G7 EXO is highly configurable and compatible with our suite of G7 products and gas sensor cartridges with thousands of sensor combinations including:

How do I change which gas(es) the G7 EXO detects?

G7 EXO’s cartridge can be changed by removing the cartridge cover, followed by pulling the cartridge out. To add a new cartridge, follow the reverse process by sliding the cartridge into the socket and adding the cartridge cover. If you wish to order new gas cartridges, please contact your Electrogas Sales Representative.

How often do I have to change or charge the battery?

G7 EXO has industry-leading battery life with continuous communication with the Blackline Safety Cloud. Battery life lasts more than 100 days under standard operating conditions.

Battery life can vary depending on the cartridges it is supporting, ambient temperature and whether it is equipped and using the pump module for remote sampling of confined spaces.

  • In diffusion mode for the standard four-gas cartridge configuration and at normal temperatures (about 20°C or 68°F), EXO will last for 100 days.
  • In pump mode for the standard four-gas cartridge configuration and at normal temperatures (about 20°C or 68°F), EXO will last for 30 days.

EXO also comes with an intrinsically safe charging port and solar panel accessory, supporting the continuous operation. 

Does G7 EXO detect gas coming from any direction?

G7 EXO features 360-degree gas detection based on its unique gas path that enables free gas diffusion from any direction, leading to faster response to gas that enters the area.

How long does calibration or bump test take?

Calibration of the G7 EXO takes approximately 4 minutes, while bump tests can be performed in 30 seconds. The exact time may differ slightly depending on the gas being used.

Multipoint Critical Gas Detection and Monitoring System

The WOLF Area Gas Detection package by Electrogas and RC Systems is a wireless detection and monitoring system that warns of hazardous gas levels. The compact, easy-to-install package critically monitors up to four points and can transmit data as far as 3 miles. It is ideally suited for detecting and monitoring gases including hydrogen sulphide, carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, ammonia, and certain combustibles. ViewSmart 400 4-Channel Controller

The ViewSmart 400, often functions as the “Site Controller” for the WOLF when it is desirable to interface wirelessly with other controllers and alarm instrumentation. The ViewSmart 400 4-channel Alarm Controller provides simultaneous display and alarm functions for four monitored variables. Easy to configure and user-friendly, the ViewSmart 400 can function as a critical Alarm Controller for toxic and combustible gases, vibration, tank levels, and other process values. Up to 8 configurable relays allow zoning and voting.

RC Systems’ state-of-the-art SenSmart 6000 series sensors are built with our proven ST-44 transmitters.
